How to Replace an Outlet

First, disconnect the outlet or switch from the power supply. Cut the power supply at the fuse box by flipping the circuit breaker or removing the fuse. Next, remove the cover plate. When removing the outlets or switch, make not of which wire connects to which pole. Your new outlet should look a lot like the one you removed.
